Executive function refers to a set of skills that build the foundation for learning and adapting to changes throughout the life span.

The skills that fall under the umbrella of executive function enable students to take an active role in their education, allowing them to become independent learners and thinkers.

Student Coaching

Whether your child struggles with homework completion, losing materials, task initiation, or fails to turn in completed homework, executive function coaching can help support them in developing a system and routine that is sustainable, allowing them to become independent learners and thinkers.

Coaching sessions will support students in prioritizing their assignments based on the importance and due date, break down larger assignments into smaller more manageable tasks, how to effectively prepare for tests, how to manage their time and keep track of due dates, how to self-advocate when they are in need of help, how to monitor and assess their level of understanding, and to develop and maintain an organization system that works for them.

Parent Coaching

Children often present a unique set of challenges that can be overwhelming for parents to navigate alone. The coaching process avoids blaming and judgement and instead provides support and guidance that leads to empowerment. Through the coaching relationship, parents will be able to create conditions for their child to succeed and feel prepared to implement effective behavioral and academic interventions.

Through the coaching relationship, parents will be able to create conditions for their child to succeed, modify their home to enable effective habits and essential executive functioning skills, develop a framework to provide an organizational system that serves their lifestyle, utilize tools and techniques to manage challenges, and feel prepared to implement effective behavioral and academic interventions.
